Recover rejected messages
«

I'm testing on an exchange 2007 server and due to smtp problems i am now left with many *.dat files in the rejected mails folder.
I have sorted the smtp problems now so everything works fine, unfortunately popgrabber was set to backup and delete so the messages are no longer on my mailserver.
Is there any way to recover these mails?

Hello,
If you selected the option to backup and delete, the messages should be in the folder you specified for the backup.
The messages are stored in a standard text format (EML). To recover the messages, you will need to use Outlook Express or Windows Mail and drag and drop the messages from windows explorer to the email program. You can then forward them to the correct recipients.
Let us know if you have any problems.

We forgot to mention that you should rename the messages from .dat to .eml in order for them to be recognized by Outlook Express or Windows Mail.
