I just installed PopGrabber Pro on our Windows Exchange Server 2003 and followed the setup directions and getting the following error:

"PopGrabber could not connect to SMTP Server server.local:25 Expecting code 220 (SMTP Connect)"

I know that Exchange is working OK since I can send messages from one use to another.  Do I have something in PopGrabber that is setup incorrectly?  In the "Accounts" section under SMTP settings, I have the "SMTP Server" set to my local exchange server name which is "server.local".  Port is "25".

Any help is appreciated.

Hello,

can you please open a command window and execute the following:

Code:
telnet server.local 25

You should get an answer similar to the following:

Code:
220 server.local Microsoft ESMTP MAIL Service, Version: X.X.X ready at Tue, 23 Dec 2008 15:40:00 -0500

PopGrabber is expecting the server to respond with a 220 code but it's getting something else.

Regards,

I finally located the problem.  In your instructions for configuring POP3 Connector for Exchange, in step 2 under "connection" I set the "select which computers may access the virtual-server" to "only the list below" and added 127.0.0.1.  I changed this to "All except the list below" and left the list empty.
