I recently rebuilt my exchange box and saved the config file and moved it over to the new box.  Dumb on my part I didnt setup all of the users mail to accounts, so popgrabber has been downloading messages for the users, but not delivering them to their mail accounts.

I have since resolved the delivery issue, however for all of the mail messages it did download how do I get those messages delivered to the correct account, and where did they go??

Thanks

Hi,

depending on the Exchange configuration, the messages could have been delivered to the Postmaster / Administrator, bounced to the original senders, or both.

Please use the message tracking module from Exchange to verify what happened with the messages:

Exchange 2000 and 2003:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/262162

Exchange 2007:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb124375%28v=exchg.80%29.aspx

The postmaster address was invalid as well, this had not been updated for the admin account either.  PopGrabber has the emails not exchange.

PopGrabber does not keep a copy of the messages, but it does not delete them from the POP3 server if the SMTP server rejects the message unless specified in the settings.

If the messages are not in the POP3 server anymore, it means the SMTP accepted the messages from PopGrabber. What the SMTP server does with the messages after that can only be verified using message tracking in Exchange.

You can also verify the PopGrabber Log files to confirm that PopGrabber delivered the messages to the SMTP server.
