Unexpected response to RETR command
«

Good morning, in windows 2003 server events registry, occasionally find the following error:
Message nnn (nnn = number of message) could not be downloaded: Unexpected response to RETR command: -ERR unable to open that message
has someone already found the same error and you can point out me a solution?
Waiting for comparison I cordially greet you

Hello,
when PopGrabber connects to the POP3 server it retrieves a list of all messages and then tries to download each message in order. If during this process another program connects to the same mailbox and deletes a message, PopGrabber will have the "old" list and will get an error from the server whenever it tries to get a deleted message.
The only other reason we can think this problem would happen, is if the message in question is damaged or stuck in the POP3 server. In this case you will need to delete the message using a web client on the external server or contact your ISP to let them check that for you.
If this happens often the first explanation is more likely.
