Hi,

I have been using Popgrabber Free for a while. It's been running on  an SBS 2008 server fine for about 3 months. This morning, it suddenly stopped delivering anything to Exchange. The Exchange connector is set for anonymous...

This is from the log:

2009-12-10T17:52:48: Processing account neil@talkrussian.com on server mail.talkrussian.com
2009-12-10T17:52:48: Establishing POP3 connection to mail.talkrussian.com on port 110
2009-12-10T17:52:48: Logging in to POP3 Server
2009-12-10T17:52:48: Retrieving message count
2009-12-10T17:52:48: 2 message(s) on server
2009-12-10T17:52:48: Retrieving message 1
2009-12-10T17:52:48: Message 1 succesfully downloaded
2009-12-10T17:52:48: Connecting to SMTP Server chloe.talkrussian.lan on port 25
2009-12-10T17:52:53: Error connecting to SMTP Server (chloe.talkrussian.lan): Error connecting to server: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
2009-12-10T17:52:53: Finished Processing 1 accounts.

I have upgraded to V1.09 build 450 and it's still the same. Sometimes the error is 'connection was actively refused'. This is the Exchange version
Exchange Server 2007

Microsoft Corporation

Version: 08.01.0359.002

Hi,

Sorry for the late response, we missed this message until now.

It seems the machine where PopGrabber is installed cannot connect anymore to the Exchange server on port 25. Was something changed in the network configuration in the SBS Firewall? Another possibility is that you received excessive SPAM messages during this time and Exchange is blocking the connections from the PopGrabber machine.

Exchange 2007 manages the "reputation" of each IP address it receives messages from, you should add the IP address of the PopGrabber machine to the allowed list as explained in this article: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb123801(EXCHG.80).aspx.

Regards,
